Washington
County, Minnesota is located on the eastern edge of the
state, and is one of the seven Twin City Metro Area Counties.
Washington County was incorporated in 1849, as one of the
nine original counties in the Territory of Minnesota.
Washington
County covers 423 square miles and houses over 205,000 people.
Washington County has grown to include major employers such
as Anderson Windows, State Farm Insurance, and 3M. Located
within Washington County lines are Afton State Park, Lake
Elmo Park Reserve, St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park, and Square
Lake Park, as well as dozens of smaller protected wilderness
areas. The county is bordered by the Lower St. Croix National
Scenic Riverway.
