Lake Sarah runs along highway 55 between Medina and Rockford. Offering lakeshore living, fishing, boating and recreation, Lake Sarah is about 3 miles long. On the North West end near Rockford is Lake Rebecca County Park. Lake Sarah was a resort retreat for residents of the Twin Cities in the early 1900s with the Eschman Resort on the North Shore. Then in about 1918 the Andersons opened an Inn with Cottages at Shady Beach. Prior to the resorts there were campgrounds for the Minneapolis crowd to relax at, namely the Levi Bowen Camp and later the Hillcrest Farm and Summer Resort.
