History- Woodbury's Township was organized in 1858 and was then called Red Rock Township by the settlers who came to the area in 1840. Recreation- Woodbury has plenty of recreational activities. Woodbury park system features 2,000 acres of dedicated park land, 38 community and neighborhood parks, and a swimming beach. The Bielenberg Sports Center has two indoor ice arenas and a field house for running and walking. The outdoors facilities include 14 athletic fields, picnic areas and playground equipment. Carver Lake, Ojibay, and Tamarak Nature Preserve in Woodbury have more then 120 acres of parkland connected by paved trails allowing a perfect setting for biking and walking. Woodbury's golf course is located east on Woodbury drive. Eagle Valley Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 72 course laid out on 225 acres.
