History- Rose Township was originally named for Isaac Rose, one of the first white settlers in the area and also the post master. Rose and his family settled on a claim near what is St. Anthony Road and Fairview Avenue. When the Federal Government ordered a survey of the Roseville area, Isaac Rose worked on the survey team, and in a result , the township was named after him. In 1948 Rose Township was incorporated and was separated creating Roseville, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, and part of St. Paul. Roseville's biggest housing boom took place in the 70's and as a result, most of the residential areas are filled with split-level ramblers and bungalows.

Shopping- Roseville is home of the Rosedale shopping mall located off Highway 36. Within Rosedale you're able to fulfill all you shopping needs. There is Marshal Fields, Herberger's, Mervyn's and JC Penny along with many other store's.

Recreation- The city of Roseville has 23 park sites, ranging from 2 acres to 220 acres. Within Roseville you will find an amphitheater in Central Park. Central Park is the largest park in Roseville, and one of the larger urban parks in Ramsey County. Central Park is divided into five areas connecting by series of walking paths and biking trails. Another large park in Roseville is Langton Lake Park. Langton Lake Park consists of nature trails around Langton Lake and nearly one-mile of scenic trails. Langton also has an accessible fishing pier and is great for canoeing. The John Rose Oval Ice Arena located on Civic Center Drive has huge indoor and outdoor rinks available for hockey, figure skating and open skating. Roseville is also home of Cedarholm Golf Course which is a challenging 9-hole par 3 course.
