History- Deephaven was incorporated as a village in 1900. The name Deephaven came from Hazel J. Burton who moved into a home on Carson's bay. When asked to name the railroad station located at the foot of their hill, Mrs. Burton thought of Deephaven after the title of her favorite book. City of Deephaven

Recreation- Deephaven has more then 76 acres of parkland. Deephaven consists of five parks: Burton park, Cottage Children park, Pump park, Shuck park and Thorpe Park being the largest, offering picnic areas, baseball courts and a hockey rink. Within Deephaven you will find 6 beaches with Deephaven beach being the largest. Deephaven beach is the most versatile having a supervised swimming beach, tennis courts, canoe racks, trail access and a picnic area. The other beaches located in Deephaven are Linwood, Nocomo, and Rockey with small unsupervised beaches, and Robinson and Sandy beach are supervised.
