Location- Corcoran is tucked away to the northwest of Minneapolis, located in Hennepin County. Corcoran is about a 30-minute drive from downtown Minneapolis just off of Highway 55.

History- Corcoran was settled in 1855 was named in honor of Patrick B. Corcoran, who was the first school teacher, first merchant, and first postmaster to settle in 1855. A highly commended citizen by Col. Stevens. The city of Corcoran was incorporated on December 4, 1948 and had it‘s very own post office.
Shopping- Corcoran's shopping is pretty minimal with Maple Grove, Plymouth, and a few stores in nearby Hamel.
Recreation- Corcoran offers six close by golf courses, Shamrock Golf Club, Baker National Golf Course, Elm Creek Golf Links, Pheasant Acres Golf Club, Rush Creek Golf Club, and Sundance. Water sports is another great activity for Corcoran with a few small lakes close by as well as Lake Minnetonka providing plenty of sparkling water for fishing, boating, sail boating, windsurfing, sailing, swimming, and more.
