County was established in 1849 and is home to Minnesota’s
state capital, the city of St. Paul. More than 487,000 people
live in the 156 square miles that make up the county.
There are many popular attractions, both
man-made and natural, including Como Park Zoo and the Conservatory,
Indian Mounds Park, Harriet Island and Lilydale Parks, and
the Alexander Ramsey House. The suburbs of Ramsey County
are blessed with beautiful, historic neighborhoods built
around lakes and parks for summer and winter recreation.
