Take a tour through Albertville, MN and check out the new and old homes available to tour. At this time of year many people list their homes on the market and after a spring cleaning, all the homes look their best.

 Over the weekend, I went for a walk in downtown Albertville and as I was crusing down Main Avenue past City Hall, I was struck by the calm, quiet beauty of this growing residential haven for people fleeing the crowded conditions of communities caught within the 494 ring of the Twin Cities.

Anyone interested in getting involved in the planning of Friendly City Days is welcome to join in. The Friendly City Days committee will be meeting on Thursdays, March 22, April 19, May 3, May 17, and May 31. All meetings will begin at 7:00 p.m. and held at the Albertville City Hall, which is located at 5959 Main Avenue NE.

The event in the past has started on Wednesday morning and finished on Sunday evening. The City-wide Garage Sales is the kick-off on Wednesday. Other events include: a carnival, softball and volleyball tournaments, and plenty of food stands. The events were highlighted Friday by a live country band, fireworks displan, and a pork shop dinner. Saturday events included rootbeer lfoats with the candidates, 5K run, kids tractor pull, kids treasure hunt, soap box derby, kids pedal – pull, live rock band, and bingo. Sunday’s main attraction was the Grande Day Parade, more live bands, and the Miss Albertville Coronation.

The Grande Day Parade is scheduled for Sunday, June 10 around 1:30 p.m.
